Kay Levinson Gurtin is director of the Recruitment department in the Human Resources department at Gurtin Municipal Bond Management. Ms. Gurtin is responsible for all of the firm’s recruiting, and additionally consults on human resources and organizational development.

Prior to joining Gurtin Municipal Bond Management in February 2008, Ms. Gurtin was co-founder and president of Executive Options LTD, an executive search firm specializing in placing professionals in part-time and project consulting positions. Ms. Gurtin’s pioneering approach to flexible work arrangements was featured in Crain's Chicago Business, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Working Mother, and ABC News. In this capacity, Ms. Gurtin was awarded the National Association of Women Business Owners Entrepreneur of the Year award. Prior to Executive Options LTD, Ms. Gurtin was vice president of Capital Markets for Bankers Trust Company, where she was one of the company's nationally acclaimed money market sales executives. She began her career in advertising at the Leo Burnett Agency.

Ms. Gurtin earned a bachelor’s degree from Brown University in organizational behavior and management, graduating with honors. 

Ms. Gurtin is actively involved in the La Jolla Playhouse and serves on the Philanthropy Committee. She also has volunteered and served on the board of Words Alive, a non-profit focused on literacy for at-risk youth in San Diego, garnering the honor of Volunteer of the Year in 2018.
