Seema K. Murali is a vice president on the credit research team within the Investment Research & Strategy department at Gurtin Municipal Bond Management. Ms. Murali is responsible for performing fundamental credit analyses on obligors throughout the country and publishing credit research reports on an array of municipal market topics.
Prior to joining Gurtin Municipal Bond Management in January 2016, she spent five years at the Civic Federation, a non-partisan government research organization known for producing evidence-based, data-driven reports on local governments in the Chicago area. While at the Civic Federation, Ms. Murali conducted extensive budgetary and financial analyses of local governments including the city of Chicago and Chicago Public Schools, as well as research-based reports on property and consumer sales taxes.
Ms. Murali earned a master’s degree in public administration from the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan.
