Shandi O. Johnson is a partner and head of the Marketing department at Gurtin Municipal Bond Management. Ms. Johnson serves as a member of the Investment Committee and is responsible for increasing brand awareness through the management of the firm’s communications, marketing operations, and marketing strategy. Ms. Johnson is also responsible for oversight of the Marketing department.
Prior to joining Gurtin Municipal Bond Management in June 2009, Ms. Johnson worked for Goldman Sachs & Co. as an associate in the Public Sector and Infrastructure Investment Banking group, where she advised state and local municipalities in the South and Midwest on financial and strategic alternatives for financing public infrastructure projects. Previously, Ms. Johnson worked for the city of Oakland's Treasury department, where she assisted with the management of the City and Redevelopment Agency's investment portfolio, daily cash requirements, and debt portfolio. She began her career with Public Financial Management, where she provided quantitative support and customized capital planning solutions for municipal debt issuers.
Ms. Johnson earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard College, graduating cum laude.
