Francis X. Michl is a Managing Director, Head of Trading, and a member of the Investment Committee at Gurtin Fixed Income.
Prior to co-founding Gurtin Fixed Income, Mr. Michl spent 22 years with Morgan Stanley. He began his career on the Municipal Bond trading desk in Chicago. Mr. Michl eventually was promoted to Head Municipal Bond Trader for Morgan Stanley in the Midwest Region, where his responsibilities included coordinating institutional trading for the region. In 2003, Mr. Michl joined The Gurtin Group at Morgan Stanley, where he was given the responsibility of building and implementing an institutional trading infrastructure for the Group. By increasing coverage to over 75 national and regional broker/dealers, Mr. Michl played an instrumental role in building assets under management from $2.2 billion in 2003 to $5 billion in 2007.
Mr. Michl received a B.S. in Finance from Southern Illinois University in 1987.
